Intra-Oral Digital Scan
No more suffocation from dental impression materials
Traditional impression technique requires dentists or assistants to place impression materials in the patient’s mouth for several minutes. This process is usually uncomfortable, especially for patients who gag easily.
At North Peace Dental and Implant Centre, we use digital impression techniques with the DEXIS IS 3800W Scanner to capture the digital impression of the patient’s mouth effectively and accurately. The digital scan is then sent to the lab for careful treatment planning and fabrication, giving the best results for orthodontic treatment, night guard fabrication, aesthetic treatment planning for crowns and veneers.
3D Dental Cone Beam CT
Taking the guesswork out of dentistry, know the road map before we go.
Traditional X-ray technology provides a 2D image of the target dental tissue, which often results in overlapping and distortion, therefore making it difficult for dentists to identify anatomical structures and pathologies.
At North Peace Dental and Implant Centre, we use Care Stream CS 8200 Cone Beam CT to identify critical structures in 3D when traditional X-ray is insufficient for diagnostic needs, allowing dentists to identify dental root structures, shape and dimensions of the bone, as well as source and location of potential pathology. With its help, dentists can digitally plan for difficult root canals, high risk extractions, and implant treatments ahead of the procedure to reduce risk and improve clinical outcome. See our website for more information about Cone Beam CT.
Digital Personalized Treatment Plan
Know what you are getting before committing.
Choosing a long-term dentist and committing to dental treatment could feel daunting for many patients, because it is hard to know what the end results would look like before making a decision.
At North Peace Dental and Implant Centre, we use digital treatment planning for major dental treatments to show patients what they are getting as the final results before they choose to commit to the treatment. You will know what you are getting before making a treatment decision.
For anterior veneers, aesthetic crowns, and complete smile make overcases, our patients will be invited to review a digital wax up of the final treatment results. The treatment plan will show current teeth and position, proposed treatment end result, and areas where modification or reduction would be required during the treatment to achieve this end result.
For Invisalign orthodontic treatments, our patients will receive a detailed overview of their personalized treatment plan. This includes a comprehensive report and an animation video that illustrates several key aspects of the treatment.
The video shows the current alignment of the patient's teeth, the planned movements throughout the treatment, the expected duration for each stage, and the final desired outcome. It also highlights potential risks associated with the procedure and the strategies we use to mitigate these risks to achieve optimal results. Patients are encouraged to review and provide feedback on the projected final appearance of their teeth. We strive to accommodate any preferences or adjustments they request, ensuring the treatment aligns with their vision for their smile.
For dental implant treatments, patients will be invited to review a digital implant treatment plan, showing where the implant would be placed, where adjacent teeth and anatomical structures are located, areas where a bone graft would be required, and what the final crown would look like.
Using this comprehensive treatment plan, we identify potential technical challenges that might arise during the surgery, such as issues related to bone density or inadequate soft tissues. We also address critical design factors for the final crown to ensure it fits seamlessly with the patient's bite and aesthetic goals. This pre-planning allows us to devise strategies to overcome these challenges and provide a smooth, effective procedure. We ensure that patients are fully informed about what to expect during their personalized implant treatment experience, from the initial placement through to the final restoration.
